Participation Rules
Please abide by these rules to maintain the fairness of our competitions and the inviting atmosphere of our community. Only original photographs should be submitted; group projects are acceptable as long as all participants are given credit. Any inappropriate content, including harassment, hate symbols, and nudity, will be eliminated. Observe local regulations and privacy when taking pictures. In every category, simple changes like cropping, exposure, color correction, and denoising are permitted. Only if it is explicitly mentioned in your caption and does not go against the category intent—for example, Nature forbids adding or removing animals or other scene elements—is heavier compositing allowed. To maintain integrity, judges may want to see RAW files of winning entries.
File type and size: to guarantee quick loading on the student server, upload JPG or PNG files that are 1600–2400 pixels on the long edge and do not exceed 1MB. Give your file a category and a brief explanation in the title (nature_autumn-trail.jpg, for example). When submitting by email, include a longer caption in the "Notes" area and include a one-sentence alt text description for accessibility. Check the homepage banner to see the monthly theme refresh. Only one image per category, but up to three images every month, may be submitted by each member. Be kind while giving criticism, concentrate on your skill, and value progress over perfection.
